2021 Revival

Many are looking at the new year with uncertainty which is very understandable. Covid 19, a new president, the civil unrest it all makes us wonder if our lives will ever go back to what was normal in January 2020.

Reflecting on the last year, especially at the way our elected leaders and presidential candidates conducted themselves it is hard for me to grasp Romans 13: 1,2.

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God,

As a child of God I must bring myself into obedience to God. The Lord does not answer to us but we to Him. I believe the whole Bible. I do not understand the whole Bible but thankfully we are not intended to understand it all. We are to understand enough to properly obey what we do understand. We are to trust that God is working out His eternal plan.

The divisions over the election has come into the church with brothers and sisters opposed to the point of breaking fellowship. This is not pleasing to the Lord.

Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. Ro 13:8

Love is not approval. Love does not mean agreeing with everyone else. Love is caring about the well being of someone else more than yourself. As Christians, as the church we must accept our differences without destroying one another. We will give an account of our conduct to God.

So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Ro 14:12

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. Ro 13:11

Let us make 2021 the year we draw closer to God. Let us make 2021 the year we become more obedient. It is the best way to live the good life. As a loving Father, God only wants the best for His children.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Ro 15:13

The Blame Game

The Blame Game

One thing we have all done at one time or another is to blame someone else for our actions. For some it has become a way of life. Not accepting responsibility for your own actions. My mother in law ran a small beauty shop. To save her from having to pay a bookkeeper a...

Lesson from the Old Testament

Lesson from the Old Testament

I have heard many Christians dismiss the importance of the Old Testament. Some verbally and some by simply reading or studying the New Testament. I find the Old testament to offer great insights into the nature and character of the Living god. It shows me how He...
